What have we done so far?

With the start of 2006, and the newly elected Board of Governors and Executive staff, the application for the official accreditation of AmCham Kosovo was filed, and in June 2006 we became officially accredited by the US Chamber of Commerce in Washington DC.

AmCham Kosovo has been involved in trade investment conferences, trade visits to United States, investment promotion activities, lobbying for better and mixer fiscal policy system, promotion of better business practices and values for the business community, employment generation through bi annual Career Fairs for students as well as other trainings and seminars in business communication and consulting. In this course, during 2006 different seminars such as Intellectual Property, Tax Administration and Customs, Business and Media, were held.

During 2007, AmCham again organized the bi annually Career Fairs. The first three Career Fairs resulted in employment opportunities for over 200 students or newly graduates. Further on, AmCham Ksoovo organized the Kosovo’s business community trip to the Franchise Expo at Washington DC., direct meetings and working lunches with U.S. Embassy in Macedonia and foreign business delegations, held for the second consecutive year the ceremony of awarding the biggest and most successful taxpayers of the Kosovo Consolidated Budget in cooperation with Tax Administration, organized a Charity event with the business community for the Pediatric Clinic in Prishtina, held Business Ethics Week with two guests from the United States. Business Ethics week aimed to introduce ethical and business practices to the Kosovo business community and to lobby with policy makers and representatives on enacting certain laws and regulations for the good of the business community.

During this year, AmCham Kosovo has been more focused on expanding the trade links between the Republic of Kosovo and the United States as well as between the Republic of Kosovo  and other regional countries. A proof to this engagement is Kosovo's delegation participation in the "Frachise Expo 2008" and the "Kosovo Investment Conference" held in Ljubljana, Slovenia. During the course of this year, AmCham organized the 5th Career Fair which generated more than 130 jobs. AmCham Kosovo will be also focused in implementing projects which add value to the overall Kosovo business practices. In the second half of this year, AmCham and United States Embassy in Kosovo will start implementing the project on corruption in Kosovo. Numerous other projects are on their way of being carried out.
