The 6th General Assembly of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo (AmCham) was held today, in the auditorium of the American University in Kosovo. Apart from the active members of AmCham, present in this assembly were officials from the United States Embassy in Kosovo, representatives of the Civil Liaison Office of Camp Bondsteel, the director of the Investment Promotion Agency, Mr. Mustafë Hasanaj, UNDP in Kosovo representative, Ms. Lindita Daija, and representatives of local and international institutions.
Activities that marked the success of the AmCham last year were presented in the Assembly. The plan of activities for year 2010 was presented and approved by the present members. One of the most important points in this Assembly was the election of the new AmCham Board Members. As a result of these elections, the new President of the AmCham Board was chosen Mr. Christopher Hall, the current President of the American University in Kosovo. The new AmCham board is composed of the following individuals: 1. Mr. Christopher Hall – American University in Kosovo – President 2. Mr. Erolld Belegu – Marigona Residence- Vice President 3. Ms. Ardiana Bunjaku – Society of Certified Accountants and Auditors of Kosovo - Treasurer 4. Mr. Dastid Pallaska – Pallaska and Associates– Secretary General 5. Mr. Dennis Purdin – Atlas Electric 6. Mr. David Cowles – Booz Alen Hamilton - KPEP, USAID 7. Mr. Valon Lluka – Banka Ekonomike 8. Mr. Luan Dalipi – MDA 9. Mr. Gëzim Pula – 3CIS 10. Ms. Eriola Bibolli – ProCredit Bank 11. Mr. Afrim Maloku – Deloitte A Memorandum of Understanding was signed in the Assembly, with the Investment Promotion Agency in Kosovo, for the purpose of increasing cooperation between AmCham and this institution. In addition, another Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the UNDP in Kosovo, through which, AmCham and the UNDP in Kosovo will give out the annual corporate responsibility award to businesses which invest investments in the community. |
