Prishtinë, June 20, 2018 – The American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo hosted the Consul General of the Republic of Kosovo in New York, United States of America, Teuta Sahatqija, during which meeting the discussion was focused on coordinating institutional efforts on promoting investment possibilities in Kosovo and growth of economic cooperation between Kosovo and the United States of America.
Ambassador Sahatqija said that after successfully organizing the common activity on promoting Kosovo wines in New York in December 2017, where Nickey Haley, US Ambassador in the United Nations, also attended, such activities that aim in ensuring partnerships for Kosovar businesses in USA should continue. She specifically talked about the many possibilities available for Kosovar companies in the information technology area in contracting business processes.
The Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo, Arian Zeka, said that institutional efforts in attracting US investments in Kosovo should be focused more on specific US businesses which can spread their business activity in Kosovo. He offered support to the Consulate General of the Republic of Kosovo in New York on coordinating promoting activities which would be held during the year in New York and that can primarily have in focus business audiences and other stakeholders, including US state authorities, US and international financial institutions.
They also agreed on compiling a detailed work plan for all the possible activities, in which would be included other organizations that support innovation and entrepreneurship activities such as the Innovation Center of Kosovo.
