Gjakova, December 27, 2018 – The American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo in cooperation with the Municipality of Gjakova organized a roundtable with businesses from the region of Gjakova to inform them on the new positive developments in the area of public procurement.
Arian Zeka said that thanks to the support from USAID funded Transparent, Effective and Accountable Municipalities, new electronic procurement platform has been introduced and will be implemented by most procurement bodies. He also praised Municipality of Gjakova for being one of the most transparent municipalities.
On the other hand, Mayor of Gjakova, Ardian Gjini, said that the municipality that he leads will continue to publish all public procurement contracts. He also expressed his appreciation to USAID for supporting the reforms in the public procurement area, adding that introduction of e-procurement was a key factor in increased transparency.
Osman Bytyqi, from Public Procurement Regulatory Committee (PPRC) said that the electronic procurement platform provides for an increased security of bidding, thus encouraging all companies to use the platform. He further said that PPRC will remain committed to solving any potential problems that businesses might face.
