Prishtinë, September 17, 2018 – During this week, the President of Mercy College of Health Sciences, Douglas Fiore, from Iowa (USA) will stay for a visit in Kosovo on further advancing the cooperation in the education area, health sciences, as well as health management.
With the coordination of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo, Dr. Fiore will have meetings with representatives of the institutions in Kosovo, as well as public and private institutions in education and healthcare areas. Aiming on identifying ways on further developing the cooperation between Kosovo and Iowa and supporting the healthcare management in Kosovo’s institutions, Dr. Fiore will meet the Minister of Health, Minister of Education, the Mayor of Vushtrri, representatives of Municipality of Strpce, Jahjaga Foundation representatives, public healthcare institutions, American Hospital, American Clinic, and the pharmaceutical company Trepharm.
He will also meet educational facilities aiming on increasing the cooperation in the education area, such as the Provost of University of Prishtina, and private college representatives from AAB University, UBT, and Heimerer College.
During September 23-30, a delegation of about 12 students and teachers from various schools in Iowa will also stay for a visit in Kosovo, within the FFA program which enables students and teachers to explore various agricultural products worldwide.
The American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo values such visits in Kosovo as a step further in advancing the Kosovo-Iowa partnership in areas other than military. These visits which follow the visit of a delegation of about 50 individuals from Iowa on May are welcome as well as in promoting Kosovo to US citizens and organizations.
