August 7, 2018 – The American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo invites all manufacturing companies in Kosovo to use the preferential trade status that Kosovo has with the United States of America within the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) on exporting their goods in the USA.
GSP is a trading program of the United States of America which allows imports of products exempted from tax duties for specific countries, and aims on promoting economic growth in developing countries. Kosovo is part of independent developing countries which benefit form GSP for many years now.
AmCham announces that the US President has signed a legal act on March 23, 2018 which allows these preferential trading measures for a number of countries, including Kosovo, for the next three years, respectively from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2020.
GSP includes more than 3500 goods listed based on tariff codes that can be exported in USA from benefitting countries without tax duties. Products included in this list vary from numerous categories, such as food products, clothes, plastics, paper, and many other industries that manufacturers in Kosovo can benefit from.
