Prishtina, September 13, 2017 – A private-sector-led economic growth and an increased public-private dialogue are two elements that remain in the focus of the advocacy efforts of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo.
Having in consideration the importance of continuation of ease of doing business reforms and further strengthening of the private sector, the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo, calls on the new Government to demonstrate increased dynamics for implementation of the initiated reforms.
Functionalization of the market economy, improved rule of law and fight against informal economy and corruption, completion of the legal framework for new fiscal policies which would be inducive to foreign and domestic investments, strengthening of the manufacturing sector, innovation and entrepreneurship, should be among the key priorities of the Government.
Further delays in the implementation of the aforementioned objectives would impede the goals of the Government and society in general for an accelerated economic development, new jobs and ultimate improvement of the welfare of people.
By having a strong belief that the existing challenges can only be tackled through a constructive dialogue between the public sector, the business community, and the civil society, the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo remains committed to cooperating with the new Government and providing its contribution through the National Council on Economic Development and other bodies.
