Prishtina, January 16, 2019 – As a method of developing and financing various solutions to social problems, Social Entrepreneurship is being considered a growing trend, and gradually businesses are focusing their attention towards activities related to this type of entrepreneurship. This was said during the roundtable on Social Entrepreneurship in Kosovo, organized by AmCham.
Antigona Limani, Head of Marketing and Public Relations at Raiffeisen Bank stated that although Raiffeisen Bank is a commercial bank, it is consistently committed to assisting and identifying organizations and companies with social influence, which are showing a significant development over the past few years in Kosovo. Furthermore, she mentioned various key pillars on which this bank has been focused regarding the aspect of developing Social Entrepreneurship. Limani emphasized that it is necessary to support businesses that help solve social problems, in order for this activity to have a greater impact on society, as well as to raise awareness among other businesses.
Greta Kamberi, Recruitment Specialist at Gjirafa, stated that the activities of this company regarding Social Entrepreneurship are numerous, mentioning that their main focus for last year was in education matters. Kamberi expressed that she firmly believes that social responsibility comes from within, and that it must be integrated into the roots of every company. She added that it is important that Social Entrepreneurship is developing in Kosovo, and encouraged all businesses to follow the activities and causes serving for the society. Furthermore, Kamberi noted that Gjirafa is always ready to collaborate in whatever initiatives coming from different enterprises or other stakeholders, that contribute to the development of Social Entrepreneurship.
On the other hand, during the open discussion, as one of the main challenges in developing this type of entrepreneurship the lack of maintenance of the projects after their implementation was mentioned, which often results in displeasure among society.
