Prishtinë, 20 December 2018 – Kosovo Chamber of Commerce and the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo welcome the decision of the Minister of Finance, Bedri Hamza, in further advancing the establishment of the Independent Review Board, which will handle complaints of the private sector on the Tax Administration and Customs.
Kosovo Chamber of Commerce and AmCham, throughout the years, have required this legal right granted by the Law on General Administrative Procedure for two-dimensionality in administrative procedure, which implies having another chance for complaints after the complaint mechanism in tax-collecting institution, before the court procedures resume.
Considering that similar ways of dealing with fiscal disputes exist in European Union member countries as well, both chambers of commerce have reiterated their position that such practices should be applied in Kosovo also.
This decision of Minister Hamza along with other new fiscal measures implemented this year and the upcoming year, undoubtedly make the largest fiscal reform in Kosovo, and are the result of the constructive dialogue between the private sector representatives and this Ministry.
