Prishtina, June 15, 2021 – The impact of the pandemic on corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities has been significantly high. To discuss in detail about this topic, the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo has organized its upcoming event with private sector stakeholders.
Afrika Zyferi, the public relations expert at IPKO, stressed that the company in question was one of the pillar industries during the pandemic period. The activities carried out by IPKO during this period have been mostly online, including entertainment activities and numerous requests for communication. Zyferi further said that the key priority has been the well-being of staff and clients, as well as, the provision of working conditions from home, “one of the activities that should be mentioned is the development of applications for online payments,” she said.
KEDS Communications Manager, Linda Gjokaj said that the pandemic has changed the company’s operating system. She further said that 80% of KEDS employees have been in the field and that all strategies had to be implemented in a completely different way. Gjokaj further emphasized that KEDS ACADEMY, a project which was constantly active, during the pandemic completely changed its strategy, switching to online learning. Despite the great challenges, the effect of this academy was tremendous with a fruitful outcome on the part of the company and the students.
Njomza Rozhaja, unit manager at BKT, also the moderator of this event, stressed that BKT has been very engaged with many different activities, especially those of corporate social responsibility (CSR). Rozhaja spoke in particular about the support given to associations in need, mainly those of children.
Present business representatives raised issues related to the difficulties encountered during the pandemic period mainly emphasizing staff well-being, communication and moral support. Without leaving behind the activities of corporate social responsibility, starting from the provision of online products, with a focus on E-commerce.
