Prishtina, February 14, 2020 – United States Agency for International Development (USAID), through the project Development of Regional Energy Markets, in partnership with Tetra Tech and the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo, presented to businesses their project on best practices in energy management and usage, through the adoption of a management system.
Panelists at this roundtable were Mark Oven, Senior Advisor at Tetra Tech, Dragan Blazev, Energy Management System (EMS) Expert, and Larcus Pickett, Activity Manager at Tetra Tech, who spoke on energy management challenges in the Balkan countries emphasizing the need for businesses and institutions to measure energy, especially through the adoption of an energy management system, which is designed to monitor energy consumption in one or more production equipment. According to them, energy management can help owners of public, private or commercial buildings reduce costs and help businesses become more competitive.
They emphasized that energy management is very important as it protects businesses and institutions from power failures, improves operational efficiency, competitiveness, and financial performance, while urging businesses to implement such systems in their companies.
