October 1st, 2020 – As a follow up to the U.S.-brokered agreement on economic normalization signed in Washington, D.C. on September 4th, leaderships of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo and the American Chamber of Commerce in Serbia held a virtual meeting to discuss strengthening their cooperation and joint efforts in support of the implementation of the economic aspects of the agreement.
Both AmChams will work together to consult membership and identify outstanding barriers to trade and provide concrete recommendations for their resolution, as well as suggest measures for further facilitation of trade in the “mini-Schengen” region.
Furthermore, it was agreed to jointly promote investment opportunities for the U.S. companies in the entire Western Balkans region. They will work together to organize investment forums and to raise awareness among the members of the business community about the funding opportunities from the U.S. International Development Financial Corporation (DFC), EXIM Bank and other U.S. agencies.
