President Osmani addresses American businesses at the World Affairs Council in Dallas, Texas

Dallas, Texas – May 9, 2024 – The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani Sadriu, participated in a roundtable organized by World Council Affairs in Dallas, Texas, where she had the opportunity to address representatives of American businesses. President Osmani was accompanied by a delegation of Kosovar businesses and the Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo. The business delegation also participated in the US-Africa Business Summit, to explore the numerous opportunities for economic cooperation offered in Africa.

During her speech, President Osmani highlighted Kosovo’s competitive advantages, including a young and skilled workforce, investor-friendly tax rates and a strategic geographic position that serves as a gateway between east and west. She underlined Kosovo’s unwavering support and commitment to its special relationship with the United States of America, highlighting Kosovo as the most pro-American state in the world.

Arian Zeka, the Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo, further elaborated on the investment opportunities in Kosovo. Zeka highlighted the country’s access to larger markets, proximity to seaports, low operational costs, stable currency, effective investment protection mechanisms and low political risk. He outlined potential investment sectors including energy, mining, food processing, information and communication technology, healthcare, waste management, tourism and fashion.

The event provided a platform for Kosovar businesses to interact with American businesses and explore opportunities for cooperation, for greater economic ties between Kosovo and the United States.

President Osmani expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome and fruitful discussions at the round table, emphasizing the common commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and promoting economic prosperity for both countries. The business delegation joined President Osmani in the visit to the American manufacturer of helicopters “Bell” where the representatives of the company provided information about their wide range of aircrafts, while those of the parent company Textron Systems presented the range of armored vehicles, some of which are already in the fleet of the Kosovo Security Force.
