The American Chamber of Commerce welcomes the approval of the Draft Law on Electronic Identification and Trusted Services in Electronic Transactions

Prishtina, July 3, 2021 – The American Chamber of Commerce welcomes the approval of the Draft Law on Electronic Identification and Trusted Services in Electronic Transactions, as an important legislative act for the transformation of the economy in line with global technological development. The approval of this draft law is one of the fifty recommendations that the American Chamber has presented to the new Government of the Republic of Kosovo.

The American Chamber estimates that this law would contribute to the development of the digital economy, reduce the administrative burden for electronic transactions between parties, as well as, increase the efficiency of business processes by significantly reducing costs.

At the same time, increasing the security of electronic transactions would provide businesses with a larger customer base.

Finally, the American Chamber of Commerce expresses its confidence that the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo will soon approve the Draft Law in question, along with other legislative acts included in this year’s agenda, which would have an impact. in improving the investment climate and accelerating Kosovo’s economic growth.
