Drenas, 21 November 2019 – The Municipality of Drenas was the next destination of AmCham activities for the Global Entrepreneurship Week. At a roundtable organized in partnership with the Regional Development Agency – Centre, and the Municipality of Drenas, “Becoming an Entrepreneur: Prospects of Self-Employment”, the entrepreneur Mergim Prishtina shared with the youth of Drenas the story behind creating TrePharm, emphasizing that he has chosen to invest in the pharmaceutical industry, seeing it as an underdeveloped industry in the country. He encouraged young people to take the risk of choosing a specific unexplored area, because they have the potential to contribute to the growth of entrepreneurship in Kosovo.
The Executive Director of RDA-Centre, Mrika Macula, stated that as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, the Regional Development Agency – Centre is working towards training young people in soft skills, as well as advising entrepreneurs on applying for grants. The Mayor of Drenas, Ramiz Lladrovci, stated that by empowering entrepreneurship we also empower the development of Kosovo, and with institutional support the youth should create perspectives for their future through entrepreneurship.
Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce, Arian Zeka, stated that the purpose of AmCham during this week is to share as many encouraging success stories as possible with Kosovo’s youth. He added that today there are more favorable circumstances for being an entrepreneur in Kosovo, while the private sector offers the greatest opportunities for career development. Zeka encouraged the young people participating in the event to start setting their goals from now, so that in the future they can contribute to the society.
