Mitrovice, November 19, 2019 – As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, AmCham in partnership with IBCM (International Business College Mitrovica) in Mitrovica organized the event “Becoming an Entrepreneur: Self-Employment Perspectives” where Kosovar entrepreneur Agon Gashi from Meridian Express, as well as Serbian entrepreneur Bojan Slavkovic from PIXEL Mitrovica shared with students their views on entrepreneurship, and their experiences as successful entrepreneurs.
In front of students with different ethnicities, the opportunities that result from youth involvement in entrepreneurship were discussed. The executive director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo, Arian Zeka, encouraged the students to become oriented towards entrepreneurship, given that the private sector offers numerous career development opportunities, and at the same time contributes to the economic development of the country.
Agon Gashi from Meridian Express, talked about his journey of creating a store chain, discussing the challenges he faces, and also the success of Meridian Express. Whereas Bojan Slavkovic from PIXEL Mitrovica, discussed the risks he has undertaken by resigning from a secure job to develop the successful business he runs today. In this way, he urged young people not to limit themselves despite the challenges they may face.
