USAID and AmCham Engage US Diaspora for Economic Cooperation

New York, February 22, 2024 – Opportunities for investment and economic collaboration were actively promoted to the Kosovo diaspora in the United States through a joint effort involving a delegation of 25 businesses spanning various sectors from Kosovo, at the initiative of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo and USAID’s Kosovo Compete Activity.

Engaging in a networking events and business-to-business meetings, entrepreneurs from Kosovo and the diaspora in the USA delved into potential cooperative ventures across diverse industries such as food processing, construction, and information technology.

Distinguished speakers including Lisa Magno, USAID Senior Deputy Assistant Administrator, Blerim Reka, Consul General of the Republic of Kosovo in New York, and Arian Zeka, Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo, addressed representatives from businesses in Kosovo and the USA. Additionally, Roland Nezaj of RLN US LLP and Atdhe Deva of Tech Fusion Ventures shared insights from their investment experiences in Kosovo as diaspora investors.

Furthermore, senior leaders from USAID and the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo convened in a roundtable discussion with notable representatives of the Albanian business community in the USA. This forum facilitated an insightful exchange on the opportunities and challenges inherent in investing in Kosovo, resulting in the generation of valuable recommendations for future endeavors.
